The people at Swans Island are driven by a love for beautiful hand loomed wool blankets. They work to make beautiful heirloom quality goods with the idea that they will last and be passed on. Based in an 18th century farmhouse in Northern Coastal Maine, they use the best materials to hand dye their wools in small batches and hand weave on wooden shuttle looms. Their weaver's mark is a symbol of their authenticity as it can only be achieved by hand. Swans Island made us a batch of very special scarves that are woven and crafted in the same way as their blankets and are made from 100% merino wool and are hand dyed with all natural dyes. Available in two color ways these scarves are exclusive to Levi's neighborhood stores in Malibu, Meatpacking, Newbury and Levi's Plaza San Francisco.

Available in two sizes 13 and 15 inches, these cases feature a rigid Cone Mills selvedge denim outer shell and are lined with vintage cotton camping blankets from the 1940s. The top closure features an cut of full-grain leather that ages beautifully, and hand hammered snap buttons to secure the laptop inside the case. Like all tailor shop goods this case only gets better with time as the leather darkens, the denim fades, and it becomes your own.
TAILOR SHOP GOODS: The Selvedge Denim Apron
Post Date: Monday, August 1, 2011 - Posted In: Made Here
Always hard at work, the Union Square Tailor Shop has crafted another meticulously designed product drawing off inspiration from early 1900's Levi's design: the selvedge denim apron. Based on the original design, the apron is made of three different Cone Mills selvedge denims. The different denims will fade uniquely throughout their lifetime to give each apron its own look. Both the copper rivets and grommets used on the apron are antiqued in the tailor shop in small batches with a special recipe. The rivets are placed strategically at all of the stress points of the aprons construction. Additionally, the side grommet is reinforced with a piece of Cone Mills Selvedge Duck Canvas to ensure durability. These selvedge denim aprons are made raw, and over time will wear and whisker just as your favorite jeans have. Another classic made by the Levis Tailor Shop at 300 Post Street, San Francisco, CA.
